We start with a detailed assessment, covering pelvic health, core stability & abdominal strength. Where appropriate, we offer internal pelvic floor exams to assess muscle strength, function & alignment.

Treatments may include:
  • Manual therapy, acupuncture & massage for pain relief.
  • Pelvic floor & core strengthening exercises to restore stability.
  • Pessary fitting for pelvic organ prolapse.
  • Taping or splinting for abdominal separation (diastasis recti).
  • Scar massage & healing advice for C-section or perineal scars.
  • Real-time ultrasound scanning to assess & retrain core & pelvic floor muscles.

Women's health physio is for women of any age or stage of life, pregnant, never been, postpartum or not. Every woman can benefit from a detailed assessment of their pelvic health. Who really knows how to confidently do a pelvic floor exercise? Is it specific to you & what you are experiencing? Surely this intimate part of your recovery needs an intimate, personalised approach? We believe so & tailor each session, exercise prescription & rehabilitation plan to what we find & what your body needs.

getting started

pregnancy physiotheraphy

Stay strong, pain-free & prepared for motherhood with our Ante Natal MOT. Suitable from 13 weeks onwards. Our treatments & frequency of sessions will depend on your presentation & current trimester. We assess pelvic floor strength, core stability & postural changes to support you through pregnancy & prepare for birth.

Key Milestones for Treatment:
  • Around 18 weeks, when your baby bum starts to grow. Laying down the foundations of strength to support your pregnancy. We will prevent & treat pelvic girdle pain, low back pain & diastasis recti.
  • Roughly 28 weeks, at the start of your third trimester when the load on your body changes. We will focus on exercise, movement strategies & tools to support your growing bump & relieve discomfort.
  • From 34 weeks, our goals & focus turns to birth preparation. Treatment include perineal massage, breath-work & abdominal release.

Whether this is your first baby or not, we want to ensure you are feeling strong through your pregnancy but also prepared for your new job as a mum & your post natal rehab journey.
